Holiday Survival Detox Habits

ree

The holidays are wonderful… and also a little chaotic. Between the rich food, the sugar sneaking in from every corner, and the schedule that somehow doubles in size, your body ends up quietly begging for a little support.

The good news? You don’t need a full cleanse to stay balanced through December. A few simple “mini detox” habits can keep you energized, clear-headed, and feeling more like yourself — even when your calendar isn’t cooperating.

Here are the ones I swear by:

1. Start Your Morning With Hydration Before Anything Else

A tall glass of water before coffee helps wake up your liver, rehydrates your cells, and makes everything from cravings to bloating a little easier to manage. Bonus points for warm water with lemon or minerals.

2. Eat a Protein-Forward Breakfast

If there’s one thing that stabilizes holiday blood sugar (and mood), it’s protein. A balanced breakfast keeps cravings in check and prevents the “snowball of snacking” that tends to happen later in the day.

3. Get 10 Minutes of Fresh Air After Meals

Yes, just 10 minutes. A simple walk helps digestion, lowers post-meal glucose, and clears your head — especially when holiday food gets heavier.

4. Support Your Liver With Simple Daily Habits

Think:

• herbal teas like dandelion or lemon balm

• cruciferous veggies

• deep breathing (your liver loves oxygen — wild, I know)

These tiny choices help keep your detox pathways open when treats are everywhere.

5. Prioritize Sleep Like It’s Your Job

Your body detoxes while you’re sleeping, and the holidays have a sneaky way of cutting into that time. Even one extra hour of sleep can noticeably help your energy, digestion, and metabolism.

6. Pick One Non-Negotiable

Maybe it’s hydration. Maybe it’s a veggie with every meal. Maybe it’s no late-night snacking. Choose one thing you’ll protect, even on the busiest weeks. Small consistency > big perfection.

7. Add a “Drainage Moment” Each Day

This can be:

• a warm bath

• a few minutes on the vibration plate

• dry brushing

• gentle stretching

• lymphatic massage at home

It doesn’t have to be dramatic — just supportive.

The Takeaway

Your body doesn’t need perfection during the holidays — just partnership. A few intentional detox habits can help you feel steady, present, and energized instead of dragged around by the season.

And if you want a more structured reset after the holidays, I run an OmniCleanse program in January that gives you a guided refresh without deprivation. It’s a great way to get your energy, digestion, and metabolism humming again. Take my 10 question quiz to see if a detox is right for you right now.

Just let me know if you want details.
